Ron Tonkin Chevrolet Offers Equity Plus

Portland, Oregon – March 2, 2012 – Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, a leading dealer of new and used vehicles in Northwestern Oregon and Southwestern Washington, has announced today its participation in Tonkin Equity Plus. This program was designed to eliminate or minimize the negative equity of customers’ trade-in vehicles.

The term “negative equity” means that an individual owes more money on an auto loan than the car is worth. In the past when trading a vehicle, customers were expected to pay off or finance negative equity. This, combined with the purchase of another vehicle, was a financial burden. Now through this exciting new program customers do not have to absorb one hundred percent of their negative equity.

New qualifying vehicles purchased at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet will now include this trade-in protection at no additional charge. Customers can trade in their vehicle for another halfway through the loan period. If the trade-in vehicle is valued at less than is owed on the car, the program will protect the owner up to $2,500. No other dealer has it, does it, or can offer it.

“We can now offer a more complete service to our valued customers. If halfway through your purchase you find yourself in need of a different vehicle, this program will help protect your investment” said Chad Eddlemon, General Manager at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, “You no-longer have to feel stuck in a car that is not right for you.”

New vehicles can be purchased from any of the Ron Tonkin Dealerships and traded-in at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet to receive this benefit. Additionally, purchase a new Chevrolet from Ron Tonkin Chevrolet and you are able to trade it in to any of the Tonkin Dealerships. Tonkin Equity Plus is offered exclusively at Ron Tonkin Dealerships.

Oregon Winter Activities

Oregon Winter Activities

Posted on 21 January 2013 by Grace

Oregonians are known for their love of the outdoors. Even the cold Northwest winters can’t keep them cooped up inside. Here are three fun ways to enjoy the Oregon winter.

Stay at Crater Lake

One of the most beautiful National Parks is located right here in Oregon, Crater Lake. There are no shortage of ways to enjoy this great American treasure. Whether you like winter camping or cozy lodges, sweat-inducing activities like snowshoeing and cross country skiing or simply chilling by the fire with a beautiful view, Crater Lake certainly has something for everyone.

This park is the perfect distance for a weekend getaway but has enough activites to keep you entertained for a week.

Hike at Mount Tabor

If you’re a Portland resident and the winter weather has you yearning for the outdoors why not go for a hike. Sure, it might be muddy, but hiking in winter is a worthwhile pursuit. Put on a pair of sturdy boots and find some of the best hiking trails in Portland.

Mount Tabor has everything a park should; picnic tables, playgrounds, an off-leash dog area, hiking trails, and incredible views. This park is conveniently located in the city of Portland and is the perfect escape on a day off. The Park is located at SE 60th and Salmon Street. There’s an entrance there, or you can also park on SE Lincoln Street (near 51st)

Sled at Little John Snow Play Area

It may not be snowing in Portland but that doesn’t mean you can’t drive to a winter wonderland. Head to Little John Snow Play Area located 11 miles north of the Hwy26/Hwy35 junction and enjoy free sledding at this developed sno-park.

Little John sno-park is one of the only non-commercial places in the area. It was configured during summer to offer a good sleding hill during winter. On a nice day hundreds gather to enjoy the park.

No matter where you are headed this winter remember to drive safe and have fun!
