GM enters the mini-car market with the Chevy Spark. They unveiled four, 12 foot, cuties at the LA Auto Show, sporting a variety of candy colors from Salsa to Disco.
The Spark packs a 1.2 liter four-cylinder engine, delivers 85 horsepower and 82 ft-lbs of torque. But don’t be too quick to judge the power of the Spark the light weight gives the car better than expected get up and go, while delivering 40+ highway MPG and 30+ city MPG.
Chevy was not chintzy with the features on this little car. In fact the Spark is packed with technology like, a 7-inch touchscreen on the center console, standard air conditioning and power windows, and Bluetooth/Pandora connectivity.
The Spark will be priced below the Chevy Sonic though; official pricing has not been released. The spunky Spark will be a welcomed addition to the Chevy line-up when it is released this summer.
The number of people in the Northwest with bad credit is at an all-time high. This is largely attributed to the turbulent economic climate and high unemployment rate. People living in Oregon, Washington, and across the country are finding it impossible to pay their bills and as a result have low credit scores.
A bad credit score makes securing an auto loan nearly impossible. Luckily, some local dealerships specialize in auto financing for people with bad credit. Ron Tonkin Chevrolet is one such dealer. Customers are able to secure financing through the Ron Tonkin Chevrolet Business Development Center and drive off the lot with a new or pre-owned vehicle the same day.

November 3rd marked the official anniversary of Chevrolet. The bowtie brand was founded a hundred years ago by race-car driver/automobile engineer Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors founder William C. Durant. The pair designed Chevrolet cars to possess a spirit of their own. This spirit is manifested in iconic models such as the Suburban, Corvette and Volt.
The Suburban Carryall was introduced in 1936 and was the world’s first cross-over vehicle. It had the feel of a passenger car but with all the room of a truck. It had three doors, seated eight and weighed a half ton.
The Corvette made its debut in 1953 but it took a decade for it to truly become a sports car. In 1963 the Corvette Sting-Ray raced onto the scene with a fully independent suspension, hot V-8 engine and a stunning new shape with a split rear window.
The Volt is a relatively new addition to the Chevy line up, the concept debuting in 2007 and officially going on sale 2010. It shook up the market by offering a rechargeable electric battery and backup gas tank. The Volt serves as a sign that Chevrolet is looking ahead to the next hundred years.
